- Between Two Realms is a semi-literate roleplaying site, and we encourage a minimum of 150 words per post. We do not have a maximum. While we do not ask players to have perfect spelling and grammar, we do ask that no chatspeak be used. We also ask of players to not use too much cursing, as we are a strictly 13+ board.
- Players are allowed a minimum of six characters and one account. There is a thread in our player organization friendly thread "RECORD KEEPER" for players to post bios of their characters to help keep track of them. You will be allowed to update these threads also. Here at BTR, we support full organization. We ask that every play wait a minimum of two weeks before making a third character. You may not play two wolves in the same pack, unless you are playing a descent of one of your characters.
- Players can adopt characters from the "ADOPTIONS" thread once a month. The adopts will include the exception to the previous rule, where you may adopt a species that has a build-it-yourself bio or a player-created character that will be born next season.
- BTR requires a minimum of three posts every two weeks. We understand lengthy absences, so if you need to leave for a while please post it in the "HIATUS" board that you will be absent for an roughly estimated time. We will put your account on a list for it to be frozen until your return. Any unknown absences will be marked as AWOL after two weeks and four days of inactivity. A month of absence will have your account deleted so that someone else may take the name if they wish. We will not delete your characters, or their bios. They will go in an archive just in case you return. All characters that have been accepted will be saved. All players that are in danger of deletion are given a PM.
- All roleplay should be PG13 friendly. Any exceptions are for battles, or even death. These threads must be marked mature or [M]
- Players CANNOT start to roleplay until their character is approved.
- BTR is open to suggestions! If you feel like you have an idea, don't be afraid to shoot the admins a PM. They will get it back to the site's owner and then it will be discussed and reviewed. We love hearing what you all have to say.

>ROLEPLAY
- We ask that if your character is in a thread in one area, that you do not post with that character anywhere else. This is to keep the board more organized. We do allow a timeskip of 1-2 days in a thread, but ask that it only does this twice. If you need another timeskip, please make a fresh thread. Also, please keep in mind that you CANNOT timeskip in a new season and/or month.
- We give players 3 days from the last post to reply or they can be skipped. Any threads that have a player on hiatus, we ask that they have their characters leave the thread first. Any players that have been absent for the maximum absence limit and have characters in a thread will have their characters removed through a message in the thread that says "[character's name] has faded out of the scene." or something of the like so other players may continue more easily.
- Characters age 1 year every 4 months in BTR time. This means your character ages 3 months every 1 month in real time.
- Always use third-person writing in roleplay posts.Other than dialogue, the word 'I' should not be used to describe your character or their actions. If the post is written in first-person, you will be asked to revisit your post and redo it in third-person.
- Wolves typically live up to 13 years in the wild. We allow a maximum of 18 years here.
- With all litters, players are allowed to play one character in the litter, if their character count is under 6. Players must send the rest of the litter's bio information to an admin, who will post the litters in the "ADOPTIONS" section under 'Litters born this season.'
- Pregnancy for wolves typically lasts around 2 months and litters are 1-5 pups. Litters are born around the end of the winter season. Admins will roll the litter size for players. Players must send the information for litters at the very least the end of winter, or the litter is null and not recognized.
- Pregnancy for foxes typically lasts around 53 days and have 1-4 young. Litters are born around the early winter season. Admins will roll the litter size for players. Players must send the information for litters at the very least the end of fall, or the litter is null and not recognized.
- Pregnancy for coyotes typically lasts around 63 days and have 1-6 young. Litters are born around the early summer season. Admins will roll the litter size for players. Players must send the information for litters at the very least the end of spring, or the litter is null and will not be recognized.
- All threads should be marked private or open for players to understand if they can join that thread or not. If your character leaves a thread make sure you put 'Exit' or '[Character's Name] has left the area' so players know for sure your character has left.
- All alphas are asked to post weekly in their territory, and to respond to any threads that tag them.
- Challenges must be responded to! If the thread isn't responded to in three days, it may be taken down by an admin and can be reposted the next day. If it still isn't responded to, the players will be contacted and asked to respond or their characters will be suspended until both players reply to the challenge.
- Coyote-wolf hybrids are allowed. Fox-coyote or fox-wolf hybrids are not allowed.

>PACKS/TRIBES
- Developing any packs is welcomed. We have three packs that permanent, but feel free to try to make your own! Any land unclaimed will hold typically a pack of 20-32 wolves. After that we ask that you try expanding.
- All leaders of packs must be active quite frequently.
- Packs can share land, and so can tribes.
- You can join any of the major four packs/tribe (Attor, Blood Ties, Titans, Delta Tribe) IC or OOC, but it is encouraged for IC mainly for forming a bond or reactions with your characters. How will they join? Do they like the alpha(s)? How long until they get their trust? These things should be thought of when joining!
- Packs/tribes must have a total of five or six members before they are official! You can advertise your pack/tribe in the plot advertising section of the members category.
- Leaders under two years of age cannot form a pack/tribe. They must be fully matured.
- You have complete rights over how you maintain your pack/tribe and can form their rules and ranks how you wish. We ask that you're fair to other players.
- Players can form a total of two packs with two different characters. You CANNOT control both lead positions (Alpha and Beta) with just your characters. This is so we remain fair to other players.
- Coyotes mainly rule from a female hierarchy, so a male leading a tribe is VERY rare. It can only happen if there is a very well developed plot to it or circumstances have transpired in the tribe's history to make it happen.
- Wolves typically don't need mates to form a pack. So if your male or female wants to be a lone leader, they can! However, many alphas only breed with their mates, so having litters in the future may need to be thought out.
- Packs/tribes reserve the rights to control over the dens in their territory. They can scout out the dens, and chase whom they see fit from them. Please be fair, though! Give your wolves/coyotes time to find those pesky little freeloaders on your turf. We encourage about one to two weeks before your characters confront them.
- Dens have in their descriptions what species can claim them. This is to give players a fair advantage.
- Dens can be challenged over. Please don't spam one character with challenges. Every den can be challenged for every two weeks.
- Members of packs/tribes can claim a den, but only if there is one left open for a loner to claim. It is unfair for your pack/tribe to claim every den on their territory.
- Dens can be used seasonally. If your character claims a den for their species' birthing season only, it will be open to any character the rest of the year. It will be displayed as CLAIMED BY: character (spring), open for other seasons.
- Make sure to read the board's description, as it will help your character in how they found the den. If the area is hard to travel in, then it may take your character a while to find it!
- The events may put effects on your den! There may be bears or other animals that might try to muscle in. Try to stay active and roleplay out how your character defends it.
- There is a three den claim per player. This is so it remains fair for others to try and claim them.
